Bí Liom Bí: Muireann Ní Shé, Becky Ní Éallaithe, Aisling Lyons
Bí Liom Bí is a performance of sean-nós song, traditional music and dance by three young women working at the forefront of Irish traditional practice. Drawing on an oral tradition that long predates the written word, the programme centres on songs and tunes passed down aurally through generations — melodies and verses that carry the stories and emotions of people in particular times and places.
The traditions of Cork, Connemara, and Clare are brought together by uilleann piper and singer Muireann Ní Shé, sean-nós dancer, singer and concertina player Becky Ní Éallaithe, and harper, concertina player and composer Aisling Lyons. Their approach treats this repertoire as living material: shaped by dialogue, collaboration, and their own experiences as young women engaging with inherited forms in a modern world.
