Serpentine is a Cork- and New Orleans- based, femme and queer vocal ensemble directed by MaeDea Farrell Moon. The choir works with voice as a communal and site-responsive practice, weaving song as a living thread between listener and land.
Serpentine sings seasonal thresholds, opening relational spaces between human and more-than-human worlds. Their voices move through lament, devotion, and joy, tending to memory and belonging through embodied vocal practice. Serpentine’s work invites audiences into intimate encounters, incantatory vocalizations, ritual, and place-based performance. Active for nine years, the ensemble has presented work in galleries, churches, and arts spaces, creating otherworldly immersive environments. Their performances continue a long tradition of song as a vessel for healing, and reclamation. This will be their third time at The Cobblestone and kicks off a series of events across the country for the latter half of July!
